Whilst Chai is simply the word for tea in many countries, Desi chai, the spiced milk tea, has recently gained large amounts of popularity here in the UK.
The mix of tea, milk, cinnamon, ginger, pepper, cloves and cardamom is sweet and comforting, all whilst giving the drinker a sense of warmth and happiness. There are many ways to drink Chai but there are an equal number of amazing ways to works Chai into your next meal.
Today we are sharing some of our favourite recipes for Chai, whether you prefer it as a sweet treat, a refreshing beverage or on the side of your main meal.
Chai Overnight Oats
Overnight oats have become the next breakfast sensation, they take no time at all to prepare and leave you feeling satisfied and fuelled up for your busy day ahead. Our favourite recipe is from Cassie’s Handful of Raspberries blog, where her super-simple and super-comforting hits all the right spots and is completely vegan and gluten-free!
Chai Courgette Muffins
Although it’s not your first thought, incorporating the warmth of Chai into a savoury good like Bintu’s Chai Courgette Muffins gives you so many layers of flavours. If you eat enough, these tasty muffins might just count as one of your five-a-day too, that’s just another great reason to give them a go.
