The Grand Trunk Project set up at the British Muslim Heritage Centre in Manchester, hosted by the BBC’s Talat Farooq Awan.
We were delighted to be joined by Binita Kane and her father, who featured on the BBC Documentary ‘‘. Binita travelled back to Bangladesh to meet the Muslim man who as a young boy had risked his life to smuggle her father’s family to safety following the communal violence that arised following the Partition.
Also at the event were Dr. Anindita Ghosh who provided a brief background of Partition and Aisha Mirza who shared her family’s experience which she has now penned as a book.
A huge thank you to the British Muslim Heritage Centre for hosting us, all our speakers, performers and everyone who joined us.
